Emerson Irving was born on September 19, 1925, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Anna Marie Grosso and Emerson Ernest Irving. In Rye his family lived at 61 Purchase St.
Emerson was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1944.
He left high school his senior year and enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Emerson served as a radio and communication specialist in an artillery battalion.
In 1952 he married Miss Ann Cundari of South Norwalk Conn. Emerson had attended Westchester Commercial School before being recalled to active duty with the US Navy.
Emerson was an Army veteran of World War II, a Navy veteran of the Korean War, and an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force with more than 20 years of service and was a member of the VFW.
He then worked as a data processor for Homelite Corp., Port Chester, N.Y. He was Christian.
Emerson Irving, 77, of Hudson Florida, died Friday (Aug. 22, 2003) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point.
At the time of his death, survivors included his son, Bruce, Hudson; a daughter, Brenda Sturges, Brookfield, Conn.; three sisters, Violet Mosier, Hudson, Mae Cicoria, Homosassa Springs, and Mary Sala, St. Petersburg; two grandchildren; and companion, Gloria Ericksen, Port Richey.
